PARKERS ARMS

COUNTRY INN • EST 2007

The story so far…

Celebrating 16 successful years in business

Parkersarms was taken over by Kathy and Stosie in January 2007, a derelict abandoned landmark pub brought back to life. The team had previously worked together for 15 years in other successful ventures abroad and here in Lancashire. The Parkers Arms is a labour of love. An original rural country inn. We aim for a rustic contemporary decor, casual, elegant, warm and welcoming in the true Lancashire way, as functional as a country food pub should be and naturally your four legged friends are very welcome too.

From a derelict abandoned landmark pub to a beloved national favourite. We are delighted to fly the flag for Lancashire.  Achieving number 1 in the UK Top 50 gastropubs in 2023, the most prestigious industry list in the UK, number 12 in The National restaurant awards In 2023  and best gastropub firmly places the beautiful Newton in Bowland on the National map.  In 2021 our most famous pie was were featured in the Hairy Bikers Go North . Our curried mutton pie is a National British Pie Awards gold award 2023 winner and holds 2 taste stars awards for 2023 in The Great Taste Awards the most prestigious UK retail awards , but we are not just about pies at Parkers.

We offer modern British dishes using the finest regional produce and never tire of researching historic Lancashire dishes, reviving them in our own special way such as Kathy’s Wet Nelly one of our most popular puddings, a true Parker’s classic. Summers bring whole local day boat fish simply charcoal grilled to perfection and anointed with the freshest of dressings. Our delicious hearty Lancashire hotpot in a light broth, a recipe inspired by Kathy’s Lancastrian father and firm winter favourite was featured on BBC world travel.

We are featured in all major guide books, such as the illustrious Harden’s where we have been High Scorers since 2013, a  The Good Food Guide restaurant and top 100 winner and many national & local publications.

An eclectic selected affordable wine list, real ales, roaring fires, dining rooms with stunning views and the warmest hospitality possible. Parkers Arms is a haven for all in search of unfussy, unpretentious no nonsense staunchly excellent food and hospitality. As custodians of this Lancashire gem we look forward to welcoming you to our beloved hostelry.
